Updates: Celebrity Couples

They said it wouldn’t last… and it didn’t. Such is the fate of most celebrity couples. The latest names to be added to the list of failed Hollywood marriages: Jennifer Murphy (a former contestant on “The Apprentice”) and Dr. William Dorfman (the dentist from “Extreme Makeover”).

According to court papers, Murphy filed for divorce earlier this week. The couple has been married for about a year. The 28-year-old former Miss USA contestant cited irreconcilable differences in her petition filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court.

Murphy met her 48-year-old (now estranged) husband at the 2004 Miss USA pageant, when she was competing as Miss Oregon and he happened to be in the audience. They started dating a year later when Murphy was cast in a teeth whitening commercial for Dorfman’s company. Their star-studded (if you consider Donald Trump and her fellow “Apprentice” contestants stars) wedding took place on July 7, 2006 at the Trump National Golf Club in California.

In a previous blog Libby wrote about the demise of rocker Marilyn Manson and Dita Von Teese’s marriage.

The 38-year-old Manson is now dating 19-year-old Evan Rachel Wood. The actress has recently opened up about what attracted her to Manson. According to Wood, it’s all about the eyeliner.

“If you’ve ever dated me, then you would have ended up wearing eyeliner at some point,” she tells the British edition of Elle in its August issue. “All my boyfriends have.”

For the record Wood previously dated Billy Elliott actor Jamie Bell, whom she also adds “looked great in mascara and eyeliner.”

Okay, maybe it’s not all about the eyeliner. Wood tells Elle that makeup aside her rocker beau is “lovely, really human and just amazing. It may surprise you just how healthy and loving our relationship is.”

She also added that the love of her life is “crazy.”

“And crazy, by the way, is the highest compliment I pay,” says Wood. “Manson is definitely crazy. Hopefully I am, too.”

Wood also sets the record straight about rumors that she was the reason behind Manson and Von Teese’s split. The teen says she and Manson became “movie buddies,” until one night – after he separated from his wife– “we just suddenly looked into one another’s eyes and knew.”

Now she says they spend their nights painting and watching movies together.
