This week’s dinner discussions are based on lesson twenty-six for those in Senior Primary and Sunday School. The Sunbeams and Junior Primary’s discussions are based on lesson twenty-five. You may need to adjust according to your ward’s schedule. Remember to have the discussion be a positive thing in your family.
If you have a child in Sunbeam’s he learned about loving his family. The children learned that John the Baptist was a cousin to Jesus and that he baptized Jesus. They learned about grandparents, aunts and uncles and how they support the family. They also talked about how the temple allows families to be together forever.
If you have a child between the ages of four and seven she learned about being a missionary. The children learned the importance of sharing their testimonies and the gospel with their friends. They talked about different ways to be a missionary now. You may want to discuss some ways that you can share the gospel as a family.
If you have a child between the ages of eight and eleven he learned about the parable of the talents. The lesson shared the story and then talked about different talents that people may have. They also discussed the ways that you can develop the talents. The reading for this week is Matthew 25:14-30. You may want to talk about talents that your children have and encourage them to develop them.
If you have a child who is twelve or thirteen she learned about how President George Albert Smith showed love to others. The lesson focused on the service that President Smith was able to give others during his life. It encourages the youth to serve others as well.
For all members over the age of fourteen the lesson focused on Jesus’ trial and Crucifixion. The lesson focused on Christ’s sacrifice. It also spoke of how He maintained a loving attitude throughout this horrible ordeal. The reading for next week is Matthew 28, Luke 24 and John 20-21.
The young women learned about the Sacrament. The young men learned about the importance of worthy thoughts. The Priesthood and Relief Society lesson was, “Thou Shalt Have No Other Gods Before Me,” lesson fourteen from the Spencer W. Kimball manual. Next week’s lesson is based on a talk from conference, ask your local leaders to learn which one.
