WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Note: Bike Pro originally recalled these baby walkers on October 9,
2002.
Name of Product: Baby Walkers
Units: About 50,000
Manufacturer: Bike Pro, Inc., of Pico Rivera, Calif.
Hazard: The walkers can fit through a standard doorway and are not designed to stop at the edge of a step. Babies using these walkers can be seriously injured or killed.
Incidents/Injuries: No injuries or incidents have been reported.
Description: The recalled walkers are intended for babies 6 months and older. The walkers are blue, green, pink and yellow. They have musical activity trays with various toys and themes including rockets and a tank with an army print cloth seat, lights and a steering wheel with a teddy bear cloth seat, and a monkey’s face with a teddy bear seat cloth.
“Baby” and “BEBELOVE” are printed on labels on some of the walkers.
Sold at: Independent discount stores in Arizona, California, Colorado,
Texas, Michigan, Missouri, and New York sold these baby walkers from
January 2000 through January 2006 for between $18 and $22.
Manufactured in: China
Remedy: Consumers should stop using these walkers immediately and return them to the store where purchased for a full refund.
