The Spears Train Wreck Keeps Smoking

Pop princess Britney Spears has been dethroned, de-toxed, and more recently de-livered court papers that want her declared an unfit mother.

No, things are not looking up for the former Mouseketeer.

Let’s start with the recent court filing. According to Los Angeles Superior Court records, Spears ex, Kevin Federline has filed an order to show cause for primary physical custody of the couple’s two sons. (Basically, Fed-Ex is taking Brit back to court to have a judge render her unfit and do away with their current 50/50 custody arrangement so he can raise 23-month-old Sean Preston and 11-month-old Jayden James with less involvement from Spears.)

Federline maintains that his ex-wife exposes the boys to “unnecessary risk.” I’m thinking Brit’s recent meltdown at a photo shoot; her trashing of a private home; and the allegation that she asks her kids to fetch her cigarettes probably won’t impress a judge.

Add to that her stint in rehab, the recent photos of Spears reportedly hitting the nightclub scene, and most recently hitting a parked car and fleeing from the scene… and you’ve got a client most attorneys would run from (then again some may be running towards her given that they will get paid whether she wins or loses).

Getting back to that car-dinging incident that took place a few days ago. First of all, the entire “accident” was caught on tape. Paparazzi took pictures and videos of a puppy-toting Spears hitting a parked car as she tried to turn into a spot in a L.A. parking lot. The video shows the singer assessing the damage to her own car then heading off to go shopping.

Not only did the mother of two not even glance at the car she hit, she (surprise, surprise) has yet to contact the owner of the car she damaged.

The woman who owns the car Brit hit told reporters:

“It’s sad because I was really hoping she’d step up and be a mensch, be a human being. It was simply like my car didn’t matter to her, my inconvenience didn’t matter to her.”

The car’s owner is a 59-year-old registered nurse who says she is still stunned that she hasn’t heard from anyone in Spears’ camp.

“There were obviously a lot of paparazzi there and what kind of person wouldn’t realize that this (would) be on TV and she had to be responsible and contact me,” the woman said.

She also added that she is not looking for Spears to buy her a new car; rather she just wants her car fixed. And to that end she filed a police report yesterday.

From train wreck to car wrecker…
