Noggin to go 24/7

This is the news that stay at home moms will either love or abhor to hear. MTV, owners of both Noggin and the N, have decided to split the channel into two separate channels by the end of the year. In case you do not have a toddler or teen, Noggin is known for playing shows geared towards preschoolers. My toddler personally loves Blues Clues, Go Diego Go!, Maisy, Max and Ruby, the Wonder Pets, and Wow Wow Wubbsy on Noggin. But, at 6 pm EST, it turns into the N, the super cool network for teens and young adults. It features such shows as Degrassi, One on One, and repeats of such classics as Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Dawson’s Creek.

MTV officials have decided that Noggin will take the place of the Nick Games and Sports channel (GAS) and run 24 hours a day as of December 31. By then, both channels will be available in 60 million homes. Do not worry if you were a GAS fan, it will be moved online to TurboNick.

America’s Got Talent Finale

It is too late to vote, but the last performances of the America’s Got Talent contestants were last night. The four finalists were singer Cas Haley, singer/beat boxer Butterscotch, 14 year old singer Julienne Irwin, and ventriloquist Terry Fator. I am a bit saddened that three of the top four are singers. Well, actually, all four are singers as Terry Fator and his dummies impersonate famous singers. All four are certainly talented, but my money is on Terry. His impersonation of Roy Orbison was incredible last night. As some fans on the NBC message board have said, he can sing better with his mouth closed than most people can with their mouths open!

The voting lines were only open for two hours last night and we will have to wait until next Tuesday to see who the winner is!

About Libby Pelham

I have always loved to write and Families.com gives me the opportunity to share my passion for writing with others. I work full-time as a web developer at UTHSC and most of my other time is spent with my son (born 2004). I love everything pop culture, but also enjoy writing about green living (it has opened my eyes to many things!) and health (got to worry about that as you get older!).
