Her mom always treated her like a princess so it was only fitting that little Dannielynn Birkhead would celebrate her 1st birthday like royalty.
Anna Nicole Smith’s only daughter was the toast of Louisville, Kentucky on Saturday. That’s where her dad Larry Birkhead hosted a huge soiree at socialite Tricia Barnstable Brown’s mansion.
Do you remember what you did to celebrate your first-born’s first birthday? My daughter smashed cake into her mouth and fell asleep before her gifts were opened. Compare that with Dannielynn’s bash, which featured a princess theme complete with a “castle as big as the house,” white carriage, bubble machine, another mirrored castle floating in an indoor pool and hundreds of pink and purple balloons. Oh, and did I mention the massive hot-air-balloon-shaped birthday cake floating in the front yard?
Guests (including Howard K. Stern, Smith’s lawyer and companion who initially claimed to be Dannielynn’s father was one of them) reportedly arrived in limousines and stretch Humvees and were forced to hand over their cell phones and sign release forms promising not to snap any photos of the shindig. (Birkhead reportedly signed a deal with TV’s “Entertainment Tonight” and “The Insider” for exclusive photo rights to the party.)
Birkhead told reporters the highlight of the party was when Barney the dinosaur performed a special song and dance routine for his birthday girl. I suppose you could consider Barney the royal jester and Dannielynn the crowned princess. The little girl reportedly wore a bejeweled mini crown during the festivities, though shied away from munching on the custom-made pizzas her father personally picked to serve to guests.
The only things missing, of course, were the toddler’s mother and brother, both of whom died tragically before Dannielynn really had a chance to get to know them.
Sounds like quite a luxe bash for a one-year-old. Wonder what Birkhead will do for Dannielynn’s sweet 16?
