Fashion Potpourri: Celeb Designers, Saving the Environment and Eliminating Tooth Fuzz

CELEBRITY DESIGNERS

Add Wilmer Valderrama’s name to the growing list of celeb designers. (Is there a celebrity out there who doesn’t have a fashion line these days?) The handsome actor recently launched a casual menswear line called Calavena. Valderrama says his clothing collection is made for “stylish guys looking to find trendy, fashionable pieces.” (Take note all you “un-stylish guys.”)

Calavena features a premium denim line, embroidered hoodies, super-soft thermals and an entire collection of distressed tees. The actor says he wanted to design clothes for men that featured “sophisticated yet comfortable cuts.” And ladies don’t fret–Valderrama says he hasn’t forgotten you. The fashion designing newbie says a women’s line is in the works. Valderrama says he wants to create “very sexy, sensual cuts that highlight the best features of a woman’s beautiful body.” I’m sure his new line will do well with the under-50 crowd.

SAVING THE ENVIRONEMENT

As more and more celebrities lend their support to eco-friendly causes, famous designers are taking note and following their lead. For example, jewelry designer Kristen McCloud recently teamed up with American Forests, an organization that protects, restores and enhances forests. Each time a piece of McCloud’s jewelry is sold a tree will be planted by American Forest. To take a look at her latest creations click here.

ELIMNATING TOOTH FUZZ

Tooth fuzz… you may be familiar with it. Especially if you wait a while before brushing your teeth after you eat sweets or drink carbonated beverages. The fuzzy-feeling film that coats your teeth is hard to get rid of when you are on the move and can’t get to a bathroom for a quick brush. Now, though, there might be hope. Supersmile Quikee is a whitening tooth polish that acts like a toothpaste—but doesn’t require a brush or a sink. It comes in a tiny tube and claims to “fight cavities and freshen breath.” All you have to do is squeeze a drop of it on your tongue and rub it over your teeth. The best part—you don’t have to rinse or scrub for it to work. Check it out here.
