Handsome Super Murph
I love Halloween. I love dressing up, and I love seeing others dressed up. I’d love to dress Murph up, but he only let me do it one time.
I never bought him another costume because (a) he truly wasn’t happy (refer to pic below) and I didn’t want to torture him again, and (b) he tore up the costume racing around like a crazy dog in the backyard. No sense wasting money on something he won’t like and will likely destroy.
Unhappy Super Murph
Darn. Because I always find the cutest costumes I’d just love to get him. For instance…
The Lighter Side
• Redneck Dog Costume: Comes with flannel shirt and “built-in beer belly” and is intended for larger dogs. My only concern is a pooch might get too hot in this with all that padding in front.
Care-A-Lot Pet Supply
• Ballerina and Superhero: These caught my eye not because they’re so cute, but because they’re under $10 and aren’t complicated. (They are cute, don’t get me wrong, but they’re not as elaborate as some.) These two are perfect for a studly boy dog or girly girl dog because they’re not cumbersome to put on, and they won’t be cumbersome for the pet to walk around in. (Meaning, no sleeves. Murph’s super dog costume had sleeves and he hated them. But he might not object to this version…)
Doctors Foster and Smith
• Zorro: This one’s elaborate and might not be too easy for pooch to walk around in, but it is cute. Comes with a hat, cape, gloves (slung around the neck), and boots (that’s the part that looks cumbersome).
• Wizard of Oz Dorothy and Scarecrow: These are over the top with the headgear. I’ve never had a dog that liked anything on his head, but for any dog who would tolerate such nonsense these costumes are just too cute.
• Halloween Bandanas – “Creature of the Night” and “Does Tricks for Treats”: This might comprise Murph’s costume this year and for years to come since he doesn’t object to things tied around his neck. For $3 each, I might even buy him one of each. He is a freaky creature of the night and also knows how to do tricks that’ll net him treats.
Dog.com
• Prison Dog: Basic black and white stripes, and again a headpiece (that’s says “Bad Dog” –adorable!), but it caught my eye because it’s another one under $10 and reminded me of one of Murph’s theme songs.
• King of the Hound Dogs: This one also reminded me of my bluetick coonhound. He’d take one look at it and run faster than he does when we say “Bath.”
