If you’ve been following my favorite Halloween couple costumes series, you’ve seen my picks for funniest, sexiest, and period costumes. Well, I’m not through yet. I can’t leave out the classics –the characters everyone recognizes from TV shows and movies.
Not since I was very little, like seven, have I dressed up as a favorite TV character. (Wonder Woman was the preferred choice several years in a row as I recall.) But it might be fun one of these years to see if Wayne would like to couple up as one of the following:
• Fred and Wilma Flintstone: Wayne’s a little too skinny to make a super convincing Fred, and I don’t know how I’d look as a red head. But we both loved the cartoon growing up, so we might have fun with this.
• Prince Charming and Cinderella: In real-life Wayne is my Prince Charming, but he’d look so debonair dressed up in the costume. And Cinderella is one of my favorite fairy tales. I’m not sure I ever dressed up as her when I was little, but the dress for adults makes me want to now.
• Zorro/Bandido and Spanish Senorita: I’m no Catherine Zeta Jones and Wayne’s no Antonio Banderas…but it’d be fun to pretend for a night!
• Cuban Bandleader (a.k.a. Ricky Ricardo) and I Love Lucy Classic Housewife or Candy Factory Employee Lucy: I wouldn’t know which Lucy to pick. Both are fun!
• Shaggy and Scooby Doo: Wayne is tall and lanky like Shaggy, and since I’m short I’d be the better candidate for his sidekick Scoob. (But something tells me Murphy wouldn’t be too happy if I expected him to share his Scooby Snacks…)
• Spartan and Queen Gorgo: I loved the movie 300 and one of the characters I found myself admiring most was the king of Sparta’s wife, Queen Gorgo. I was stoked to see they had costumes for it. That would be fun! (Would probably have to explain who we were, but that’s okay.)
