This week’s dinner discussions are based on lesson thirty-eight in your manual. The Junior Primary lessons are based on lesson thirty-seven. You may need to adjust according to your ward’s schedule with Stake Conference. You may also want to include one or two conference talks to discuss with your family, as well as the Sharing Time theme for the month.
If you have a child in Nursery or Sunbeams he learned about being honest. The children learned that the Ten Commandments and the Articles of Faith both teach that they should be honest. They also learned the story of the 2000 Stripling Warriors in the Book of Mormon. You may want to role play situations so they can practice being honest.
If you have a child who has a child between the ages of four and seven she learned about serving others. The children learned the story of the Good Samaritan. They also discussed ways that they could serve. You may want to serve together as a family this week.
If you have a child between the ages of eight and eleven he learned about Stephen the Martyr. The lesson also discussed Stephen’s vision of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ right before he died. The lesson then talked about the nature of the Godhead, and also referenced the account of the First Vision of Joseph Smith. The assigned reading is Acts 7:54-60 and Doctrine and Covenants 130:22-23.
If you have a child who is twelve or thirteen she learned about Spencer W. Kimball. The lesson focused on the importance of repentance and seeking forgiveness. It shares a powerful story of when President Kimball did this in his life. You may want to talk about repentance and forgiveness as a family.
For all members over the age of fourteen the lesson focused on Acts 21-28. The lesson discussed how Paul was able to witness for Christ in spite of his great adversities. The lesson encouraged each of us to stand as a witness for Christ as well. Next week’s reading is Ephesians.
The young women learned about physical health. The young men learned about the importance of living righteously in today’s world. The Priesthood and Relief Society lessons were on family from chapter nineteen in the President Spencer W. Kimball manual. Next week’s lesson is chapter twenty “The Women of the Church.”
