With Thanksgiving right around the corner, and the big quest for leftover recipes already in browser search engines, I thought it would be a great time to take a look at leftover scrapbook supplies. Starting with photographs we easy because it is the most commonly leftover scrapbook supply.
So what do you do with all those leftover photographs that are taking up space and are not seeing the light of day?
I don’t scrap every picture I take. I try to scrap as many as I can, but I don’t do every one. Those that say they do, must either be Super Power Scrapbookers or simply must take only the best photographs or limited photographs.
The first thing I do is get rid of the bad ones. If they are blurry, you can’t see faces, there is a finger or camera strap in the way or anything else I pitch them. Into the trash, and off in the garbage truck.
After I have eliminated everything I don’t want, and scrapped what I do want, there are always tons leftover. So what to do with them?
Here are some ideas that I either use or have seen used:
Trash
Just throw them away. Unfortunately I cannot do this, because if the photograph is good at all, it has a place somewhere.
Photo Albums
Place them into standard photo sleeves inside a photo album or even a photo box, though nobody can enjoy them there.
Gifts
Give them away to family or friends, or better yet, get your kids involved in scrapbooking and allow them to use the photographs for their own pages.
With the Layouts
Store the leftover photographs from certain events in an envelope secured to the back of the layouts that they coordinate with. This way everything is stored together.
Show Them off in Style
You can either frame them and show them off, or purchase one of the great scrapbooking gift items, like jewelry, totes, etc. and display them there.
