This Week in Hollyweird

Arrests, Arrests, and a Raid

There has certainly been no shortage of arrests for celebrities lately. Actress Rebecca DeMornay was arrested last week for DUI. She was pulled over by police for an unknown traffic violation. After pulling her over, police said they immediately detected the smell of alcohol. When she took a sobriety test, it was .09, so she was arrested and taken to the Beverly Hills police station.

Maybe she had been out drinking with Mickey Rourke. He too was arrested for DUI. Okay, he was actually arrested Thursday morning in Miami. He had just left a nightclub at 4:00 am (there a clue!) with an unknown woman when he was pulled over for making an illegal turn. But here is the funny part – TMZ.com is reporting they were on a Vespa scooter! The police officer told him he pulled right in front of him. Mickey said he was all right, but his face was flushed, his eyes bloodshot and his speech was slurred. The 51-year-old actor was booked into the Miami-Dade Detention Center until he paid his $1,000 bail.

Singer Amy Winehouse had her London house raided by the police Thursday. The singer and her husband, who was arrested earlier this week in connection to a plot to fix a trial, were not at home when the raid occurred. This is the strange part – while police won’t say why they raided the home, they did say it was part of an ongoing police operation. However, a spokeperson for Winehouse said that the raid had nothing to do with drugs. I hate to be suspicious, but I rather doubt that considering the problems these two have had lately with drugs.

Another Hollywood Split

Actor Ed Asner has split from his second wife, Cindy Gilmore Asner, after nine years of marriage. Cindy filed for legal separation Wednesday citing the generic “irreconcilable differences” and is asking for spousal support.
