A Day to be Thankful for Our Marriage

It is easy to complain and think of all of the things in life that go wrong. I have often heard that it takes ten good experiences to forget one bad experience. This I can believe. I usually remember the bad things that people say or do much longer than the good things.

For this reason, it is very important that we take at least one day of the year to recall things that we can be thankful for having. While it should happen much more often, Thanksgiving gives us at least once chance to show our thanks.

As a working mom with an overworked husband, I often see the things that I wish could be different in my marriage. I think of things such as my husband being here to help more or have more romantic nights out together. However today, I want to take the chance to celebrate and be thankful for my marriage and my husband.

While my husband does work a lot, I am thankful that he has the initiative to provide for his family. Some men leave the work to their wives and foolishly waste money.

I am thankful that my husband comes home. While some men stay out at bars and clubs, I can be confident that when he is not working my husband is at home.

I am thankful that my husband and I can still look at one another with wanting eyes. Although times alone are few, we still flirt and tease one another with comments and text messages.

I am thankful that my husband loves his children. There is nothing in the world that my husband would not do for our children. He has even danced at a Wiggles’ concert and is a faithful Hannah Montana watcher.

I am thankful that I have someone that I am still deeply in love with. I am thankful that our love has seen us through good times and bad times. I am thankful that I have someone special in which to spend my life.
