Clean Out Your Fridge ASAP!

OK, friends, it is time to get serious about our New Year’s Resolutions.
No, I’m not telling you to join a gym. I want you all to join me in doing something that many of us find even more difficult:

Get rid of the holiday foods!

It is time to clean out the holiday fare from the refrigerator, cookie jar and cupboards. You’ve got one week to tackle this daunting task before we all start the Body-for-Life Challenge. Now don’t go crazy and just start throwing things out. (Don’t waste food!)

Remember that the Body-for-Life program allows for a “Free Day” every Sunday. If you’ve got holiday cakes, pies or sweets you’d like to savor later, now would be the time to wrap them up and tuck them in the freezer for enjoying on your free days.

If you still have leftover roast beast from your Whoville celebration, you could package that up into single serving sizes and save it in the freezer for easy meal preparation during the challenge. Remember that a single serving of meat is roughly the size of the palm of your hand. By packaging single serving sizes, you’ll be making your meal preparation much easier. All those breads, and egg nog will have to be consumed. If you’re a carb loader, now is your chance!

The biggest problem that most post-holiday dieters have is the fact that their refrigerator, cookie jar and cupboards are still loaded with foods that just are not allowed on their diet. When you have Christmas cookies, Mandel toast, pies, chocolate yule logs and stockings full of candy from Santa all calling out to you, you’re just setting yourself up for failure.

It is my intention to set you up for success.

You have a week to say goodbye to all your sweet, fatty, saucy holiday friends. How you choose to do it is up to you.
