It appears Miss Puerto Rico was telling the truth after all.
In a previous blog I reported that Miss Puerto Rico Universe, Ingrid Marie Rivera alleged that someone doused her pageant gown and swimsuit with pepper spray during the November 24th contest.
Authorities opened an investigation and the news made headlines around the world. Rivera made the rounds on American TV recounting her horrific ordeal. She shared how she had to apply ice bags to her face and body in between turns onstage, and despite her excruciating pain she continued with the competition.
Now police say the beauty queen did in fact have her gown sprayed as she claimed. What’s more, officials say they have a suspect – a pageant volunteer – not a fellow contestant as was previously alleged.
This is a huge break in the case considering Rivera’s initial claims were met with skepticism in the days following her crowning. Making matter worse for the brunette beauty was the fact that police found no traces of the spray when they first tested her gown and swimsuit.
However, after conducting numerous interviews, police now say they believe a perpetrator did in fact spray the dress. Authorities haven’t identified the suspect or the motive, and no charges have been filed yet.
MAMA KATIE
Katie Holmes recently sat down with Parade Magazine to discuss her family’s holiday plans.
No surprise in the interview she once again gushed how her husband Tom Cruise is a “great father and husband” and said his two children with ex-wife Nicole Kidman (15-year-old Isabella and 12-year-old Connor) are “incredible, really smart and kind.”
But, what did shock me was the revelation that Cruise’s kids call Holmes “Mom.”
The 29-year-old actress says they gave her the title shortly after she wed their dad. What’s interesting is that they don’t call their own mother “Mom.” In a recent interview with news reporters Kidman admitted that Isabella and Connor call her “Nicole” or “Hey you.” What’s more, she doesn’t mind!
Okay, call me a traditionalist, but is something wrong with that picture?
The kids call their dad’s new wife “Mom” and they call the woman who raised them by her first name.
Am I the only one who finds this bizarre?
