Many people create a Christmas album and add to it each year. This is a great way to have an ongoing theme album that you can look back on each year and see what you did. But it doesn’t just have to include the typical yearly Christmas pictures displayed beautifully on a layout. There are a dozen more ways to commemorate Christmas and remember each one for years to come.
An important part of commemorating the more detailed moments of Christmas, include getting your families involved. You will need to ask questions to each person and how you choose to use those answers is up to you.
Ask questions and commemorate things like:
- What was your favorite memory from this Christmas?
- What traditions did you stick to this year?
- What’s your favorite Christmas song?
- What was your favorite gift or gifts?
- What was on your Christmas list this year? (or better yet, include letters to Santa, Christmas wish lists, etc.)
- What’s your favorite scent/smell of Christmas? (this can be funny with very young children)
- What’s your favorite thing to see?
Grab pictures of:
- Your Christmas tree each year.
- Your Christmas decorations each year.
- Your children/family in front of the tree each year. (It is so fun to see how they have grown and changed throughout the years!)
- Your Christmas village or nativity each year.
- Your pile of gifts before opening, and after opening.
- Holiday Crafts You Created
- Holiday baking and finished results.
- Making cookies and finished results.
- Holiday parties.
- Light displays.
Now, take these things and create layouts. I would aim for about 5-6 layouts per year. This probably means your album might only hold 5 Christmas’ but that’s okay. You can create single layouts to show these things off, or you can create multiple pages and just try to include everything. It doesn’t matter because it is your album. Use your creativity, get the family involved and the finished product will be a Christmas treasury of memories.
