Last Minute Easter Projects

Easter is almost here! Little ones are becoming excited, imagining all the goodies the Easter Bunny will bring. So, let’s make things inviting for the Easter Bunny to make sure he feels welcome!

Make Easter Egg Holders

Before you decorate eggs for the Easter Bunny to hide, make any of these super simple egg holders to display them. This way they will look great and be easily accessible when it’s time for the Easter Bunny to hide them.

You can paint and decorate an egg carton to make an egg holder, or you can make individual holders. Pick up some Easter cards, construction paper, or starch some fabric. Cut strips about ¾” thick, form a circle the appropriate size to hold an egg (around 4″), and glue, tape, or staple the ends together to form a circle. Another idea is to make a “nest” for each egg. Fill bathroom-size paper cups with Easter grass, decorate outside of cups as desired, and proudly display beautifully decorated eggs along a table or shelf.

Make an Easter Egg Tree

You can decorate a coffee can or pick up a cute flowerpot and place floral foam inside. Next, take your children outside to hunt for twigs. Clean them and insert them into the floral foam. Glue ribbon to plastic Easter eggs, and hang them from the tree. Use different sizes and colors, or decorate the plastic eggs for variety. You can also hang egg shaped candies if your children are big enough to understand that these cannot be eaten after being glued.

Leave a Special Note for the Easter Bunny

Help your child create a special note for the Easter Bunny. Use small words and insert pictures instead of words where possible. You can do this on the computer or by hand. Instead of a bunny, basket, or Easter eggs, draw some, cut out pictures, or use holiday themed stickers.
