Photography Week in Review for January 13, 2007-January 20, 2008

If you have you ever wondered why some manufacturers design almost identical cameras and sell them at different price points or whether you should purchase a camera with more bells and whistles than you are accustomed to, or if you are better off investing in a pocket camera that packs a ton of power? Then you’ve come to the right place. Those questions and more were answered in this week’s Photography Blog.

Take a look:

January 14th—–A Powerful Pocket Camera. If you have the means to drop 450 bucks on a pocket-sized camera then you might consider getting the Canon PowerShot G9. It includes many of the same features you would expect to see on a SLR but this camera is designed for the serious photographer who doesn’t want to tote around a standard size SLR on all of his or her photo shoots. Find out if it is worth $450 in this blog.

January 15th—–Small SLRs with a Twist. In the increasingly crowded marketplace of digital photo equipment, camera makers have had to distinguish themselves from their competitors in innovative ways. Olympus has done so with one of its new smaller SLRs. Find out if the camera is one you should add to your collection in this blog.

January 16th—–The Difference Between Two Digital Cameras From the Same Company. Navigating the maze of digital cameras is challenging enough without having to figure out why some companies make virtually the same camera with two different names. Find out why companies like Nikon are employing this tactic in this blog.

January 17thA Digital Camera for Serious Shooters. Nikon’s D80 digital camera is a device you can find on many photographers wish lists. I know many amateur and professional photographers who have lusted over this camera since it first came out. You can see what all the fuss is about in this blog.

January 18th—–Knowing When to Zoom and Other Photo Tips. These days almost every digital camera on the market comes equipped with a zoom feature and a wide-angle feature. But when is it appropriate to employ each? The answer to that question and more photo tips are provided in this blog.

January 19th—–Conducting a Photo Evaluation. When was the last time you sat down a conducted a serious self-evaluation of your photo skills? Thanks to my ailing grandma I did so recently. Take a look at the results in this blog.
