They Said What? Sherri Shepherd and Britney Spears

Well, poor Sherri Shepherd of “The View” has put her foot in her mouth once again. It seems the comedian forgot that legendary singer Patti LaBelle was black! Sherri began appearing on the show last September and has already made a few blunders, such as arguing that Christianity was older than ancient Greece and Judaism. Um, Sherry, there is a reason they are called the Old and New Testaments. She also said she didn’t know if the world was flat or round.

But hey, she is a comedian, so a lot of people cut her some slack. Her latest goof happened on January 14th, when she had this conversation with the other hosts about the Stellar Awards, which Sherri attended:

“There is a picture of me with Shirley Caesar (known as the First Lady of Gospel Music), who is like the black Patti LaBelle,” said Shepherd.

“Patti LaBelle IS black!” said Whoopi.

“But this one is blacker,” said Joy Behar.

“It’s a good thing you’re not running for office because you’d be considered bigoted right now,” said Barbara Walters.

“I’d be in so much trouble,” said an embarrassed Sherri.

And then there was another celebrity “Huh?” spoken last week by none other than Britney Spears. US Weekly magazine is reporting that when asked about her supposed boyfriend, paparazzo Adnan Ghalib (with whom she has been photographed with numerous times), , Britney put on her British accent and replied “I don’t know who that is…I have never met him before.”

Good grief, will this pop wreck never end? Now her friend and sometimes manager Sam Lutfi is speaking about her. He sent a statement to Barbara Walters saying that Britney “has been to a psychiatrist” and is taking care of “mental issues, which are treatable.”

But Sam is not the only one sharing. Apparently, everyone has something to say about Britney. Shar Jackson, ex girlfriend of ex-husband KFed, told US Weekly that Sean Preston and Jayden James haven’t seen their mom in three weeks, but “They’re babies, you know, they don’t really know. Of course, all kids say ‘mama,’ but they don’t really know [where she is], which should remind us all of who the real victims are in this sad, sad story.
