Kids Choice Award Nominees

I guess since I have a preschooler, I should begin paying more attention to this stuff. But frankly, unless the Backyardigans or Wonder Pets show up, I think Will could careless about these awards – for now at least. But, I am sure my time is coming!

Nickelodeon announced the nominees for its Oscars yesterday – the 21st annual Kids Choice Awards. Who received the most nominations? Shrek the Third received four nominations – Favorite Animated Movie and three nominations for Voice from an Animated Movie (for Michael Myers, Eddie Murphy, and Cameron Diaz). Miley Cyrus, who seems to be taking the whole world by storm, was nominated for Favorite Female Singer and Favorite Female Actress. Her show, “Hannah Montana,” was nominated for Favorite TV Show.

Other nominees for Favorite Movie include Alvin and the Chipmunks, Are We Done Yet? , The Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, and The Transformers. Picks for Male Movie star are Ice Cube, Johnny Depp, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (might have to watch to see if he gets this), and Eddie Murphy. Female Movie Star nominees are Jessica Alba, Drew Barrymore, Kirsten Dunst, and Keira Knightley.

Nominated for Best Animated movie along with Shrek the Third is Bee Movie, Ratatouille, and The Simpsons Movie. Jerry Seinfield will go it alone against the Shrek characters in Voice from an Animated Movie. Nominated movie songs are “Beautiful Girls” by Sean Kingston, “Big Girls Don’t Cry by Fergie, “Don’t Matter” (one of Will’s favorites!) by Akon, and “Girlfriend” by Avril Lavigne. Bow Wow, Chris Brown, Soulja Boy, and Justin Timberlake are nominated for Best Male Singer while Beyonce, Fergie, Miley Cyrus, and Alicia Keys are nominated for Best Female Singer. Best Musical Group nominees are Boys Like Girls, Fall Out Boys, Jonas Brothers, and Linkin Park. Is it just me or does Linkin Park see out of place there?

The show will broadcast on March 29th and be hosted by Jack Black. And of course, there will be enough gooey green slime to go around.
