Nicolas Cage Refuses to Turn the Other Cheek and Natalie Slams Amy

A few weeks ago, I blogged about Kathleen Turner’s new autobiography titled “’Send Yourself Roses.” More specifically, I blogged about the things Kathleen said about her co-stars. She had accused Nicolas Cage of being a criminal while filming Peggy Sue Got Married, saying that he was arrested twice for drunk driving and once for stealing a dog. She also accused him of causing problems on the set because his famous uncle, Francis Ford Coppola was directing and he wanted to show he wasn’t under his wing.

Now, Nicolas is fighting back. While he made no mention of causing problems on the set, he is now suing her about the arrest and dog theft statements. Cage maintains, “I have never been arrested for anything in my life, nor have I stolen a dog.” His team of lawyers is filing the libel charges in London and said they intend to pursue action if Kathleen doesn’t retract her statements.

Meanwhile, in Musicland, a multi-Grammy winner has slammed another multi-Grammy winner. It seems that Natalie Cole didn’t think Amy Winehouse should have been given the five Grammys she earned at Sunday night’s ceremony. Amy won Record of the Year (Rehab), Song of the Year (Rehab), Best New Artist, Best Female Pop Performance (Rehab), and Best Pop Vocal Album (Back to Black). Her five wins ties the most awards for a female performer in one night.

However, Natalie, daughter of late legend Nat King Cole and herself the Best New Artist of 1975, said, “I don’t think she should have won. I think it sends a bad message to our young people who are trying to get into this business, the ones who are trying to do it right and really trying to keep themselves together. We have to stop rewarding bad behavior.”

Hum, while it is true that Amy has a drug problem, she is currently in rehab. And people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. In her own autobiography “Angel on My Shoulder,” Natalie admitted to having used LSD, heroin, and crack cocaine. She also said she was arrested for possession of heroin in 1975. She also went to rehab in 1983. You would think she of all people would be a little more understanding of what Amy might be going through right now.
