Getting Married in Hawaii

I got married in Hawaii because it was where I was born and raised so my wedding planning was a bit different than a bride who plans to use the island paradise as the site for a destination wedding.

Still, money is a factor no matter when, where or why you are getting hitched in Hawaii, which is why I thought this next travel deal was worth mentioning. It is called the Bliss Wedding Celebration and is being offered by the Lodge at Molokai Ranch. Prince Kapuaiwa, the future King Kamehameha V, founded the historic property more than a century ago.

If you have ever dreamed of living (somewhat) like Bill Gates (he rented the entire Hawaiian Island of Lanai for three days when he got married), but never have the means to do so now’s your chance. This travel deal allows you to rent the entire 22-room Lodge at Molokai and its surrounding property for the wedding of your dreams.

The wedding package serves up to 42 people: bride and groom, plus 40 guests and includes airport transfers for the entire group, accommodations in 20 deluxe and luxury rooms, use of the Bridal Suite for two nights, a Groom Suite for one night, rehearsal dinner or reception, wedding ceremony, dinner banquet following the ceremony, and wedding favors. (The Lodge will also accommodate parties larger than 42 at the nearby Beach Village at Molokai Ranch.)

The cost for the Bliss Wedding Celebration is $19,888, including taxes and gratuities. It is subject to availability and expires December 20, 2008.

If you are planning a Hawaiian wedding on the Big Island you might consider the following deal as an ideal pre or post wedding day activity for your wedding party.

Atlantis Submarines and Body Glove Cruises is offering a new Sunset Sail and Submarine package tour, which highlights Kona’s marine world, above and below the waterline.

The tour begins at Kailua Bay where your submarine will descend more than 100 feet to a 25-acre garden of coral teeming with fish and marine life. From inside the spacious, air-conditioned cabin you will enjoy underwater views of various species of marine plants and animals. The sub tour takes approximately 75 minutes including the shuttle boat ride from Kailua Pier to the dive site.

Meanwhile, the Body Glove Cruises features a relaxing two-hour sunset cruise aboard a 65-foot vessel along the Kona Coast, highlighted by live entertainment, an appetizer buffet and open bar.

Cost for the Sunset Sail and Submarine Combo is $135 and available only to individuals 21 and older.
