She may be on a recently imposed $1,500 a week allowance, but that didn’t stop Britney Spears from dropping some serious cash to pay for her soon-to-be born niece or nephew’s new nursery.
The reforming pop star reportedly spent more than $30,000 to have professional designers create an ocean-themed pad for her 16-year-old sister Jamie Lynn’s unborn baby.
The nursery is also the new home to a one-of-a-kind elephant Britney bought for the child who will be the first cousin to her own two boys Sean Preston and Jayden James. According to reports, big sis Brit ordered a six-foot tall custom-made elephant with a blue bow, which she wants to sit in the middle of the nursery and “keep the new baby company.”
Strange, I don’t remember seeing any elephants the last time I was in the ocean.
An insider at the swanky Los Angeles baby boutique Petit Tresor says designers from the store have been to Jamie Lynn’s home in Kentwood, Louisiana and are working on putting the final touches on the new nursery, which will reportedly be filled with organic bedding and baby blankets when it is complete.
“Britney’s sparing no expense,” according to the store source.
You’ll recall Britney was among the last to know Jamie-Lynn was pregnant. The singer reportedly found out when the rest of the world did in December after her teenage sister did an interview with OK! Magazine and confirmed she was pregnant with boyfriend Casey Aldridge’s baby.
And speaking of celebrity babies, Nicole Kidman is probably going to spend a pretty penny buying her trainer a thank you gift for protecting her from an overzealous photographer.
Though, “protecting” might not be the word the paparazzo would use to describe the incident.
Kidman’s trainer/assistant made headlines recently when he allegedly beat up a photographer in Santa Monica, California.
According to Flynet.com, one of their photographers needed medical attention after he had a violent encounter with Kidman’s trainer.
The website posted part of a video that shows Kidman’s trainer approaching the pap’s vehicle and attacking the photographer through the window.
The pap claims he was just trying to get pictures of a pregnant Kidman and her trainer hiking in the California hills when the attack took place.
According to the website, police are currently investigating the incident
