Have you seen Myles of Style?

You may have seen the banner ads on this site for a new show called Myles of Style. Kim Myles is the winner of the last season’s Design Star show, and will now host a design show of her own. I haven’t seen the new show yet, as things have been a little nuts leaving me little time for TV, but I can’t wait to watch it.

If you missed Design Star, it’s a really interesting, entertaining show where designers compete for the grand prize of hosting their own show. They are put through some real challenges, including things like decorating a room (each having identical rooms built on a set in most cases) with odd items … one example was designing a room with only items purchased from a pet supply store. That episode was from the previous season, and may well be what put David Bromstad in the winner’s circle. He now hosts his own show called Color Splash.

The amount of creativity that goes into the designs on these shows is amazing. I have always enjoyed design shows, and they are a great source of inspiration when planning to redecorate or do some home improvement projects. You may just find that some projects are not as difficult as you might think, and that you can do a lot of things on your own. You may also find that some things are more complex than you originally thought and avoid problems by hiring someone else to tackle those projects.

I plan to watch Myles of Style, because I thoroughly enjoyed Kim’s tasteful, creative designs throughout her competition on Design Star. While I like several other designers and various home shows, I prefer those that create tasteful, practical, functional, affordable rooms. I think Kim has a lot to offer in each of these areas. I plan to do a full review after watching a few episodes.
