I watch her show with my daughter on a regular basis and now Food Network’s Giada De Laurentiis has a baby girl of her own.
The celebrity chef gave birth to her first child on Saturday in Los Angeles, according to her rep.
De Laurentiis and her fashion designer husband Todd Thompson named their baby daughter Jade Marie De Laurentiis Thompson. The newest member of the Thompson clan weighed in at 5lbs, 13oz, according to the “Today” show contributor’s rep.
Frankly, I’m surprised baby Jade weighed as much as she did. If you saw video or still photos of De Laurentiis in her ninth month you’d agree. I saw live video of the 37-year-old culinary queen three weeks ago and she looked like she was barely in her fifth month.
I’m just glad the baby is healthy.
And by the way, in case you were wondering—-yes, Jade is the English translation of Giada.

Kathie Lee Gifford isn’t expecting a baby, but the “Today” show is expecting the former Live! co-host to become part of the NBC family.
In fact, if you watched the popular morning show today you would have heard the big announcement. Gifford will become a “Today” regular next Monday during the show’s 10 a.m. fourth hour.
The 54-year-old mother of two will share the hour with fellow co-hosts Hoda Kotb and Natalie Morales.
Fans may remember Gifford’s tearful goodbye back in 2000 as she bid farewell to pal Regis Philbin after the two spent 15 years together swapping anecdotes during their host chat on Live!
Now she’s baaack!
“It couldn’t be worse timing, in some ways,” Gifford told Matt Lauer this morning. “I’m eight years older, 10 pounds heavier and half-an-inch shorter — just in time for HD television.”

I’d say chances are good now that the couple is engaged.
The tennis heartthrob is officially off the market, according to his rep. Apparently, the 25-year-old hunk popped the question to his 20-year-old model girlfriend (did you expect he’d settle for anything less) last week.
The pair has been dating for less than a year and get this—-they met when Roddick saw the then 19-year-old Decker in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition and had his agent track down her number.
How’s that for scoring big time?! Ah, it should be that easy for all of us.
