More Baby Talk

You can’t really carry on about Hollywood celebrities these days without adding a touch of cynicism, can you?

I can’t.

However, there is one celebrity subtopic that I try not to stain with my sometimes-acerbic comments—babies.

It’s hard to rain on a baby parade. No matter what you might think of the stars who are having them, children are precious commodities and their births should be celebrated.

So a hearty congratulations to the following celebs who have another reason to smile today:

New York Yankees all-star Alex Rodriguez and his wife Cynthia overcame a series of rumors about the Bronx Bombers’ alleged infidelity and welcomed a new daughter into the world on Monday.

Cynthia Rodriguez gave birth to the couple’s second daughter whose name has not been revealed. The newest member of the Rodriguez clan reportedly weighed 7 lbs., 2 oz., at birth.

The baseball MVP and his wife of five and a half years already have a 3-year-old daughter, Natasha.

Meanwhile, it’s another boy for “The Young and the Restless” star Joshua Morrow and his wife, Tobe.

The couple’s third son also came into the world on Monday. According to the actor’s rep, Cash Joshua Morrow was born at a Los Angeles-area hospital and weighed 6 lbs., 15 oz, at birth.

Cash joins big brothers Cooper, 5, and Crew, who will turn 3 next month.

The Daytime Emmy-nominated actor who plays Nick Newman on the CBS daytime drama and his wife have been married since 2001.

Finally, one of the hottest guys on primetime TV, “Ugly Betty” star Eric Mabius and his wife Ivy Sherman are reportedly expecting their second child, according to news reports.

The 37-year-old actor told reporters that his interior designer wife surprised him with the good news while he was on the set of the popular ABC TV show.

The couple is already the proud parents of a 1-year-old son, Maxfield Elliott.

Mabius didn’t reveal his wife’s due date and said they haven’t decided if they will find out the gender of the baby before it is born.
