SIMON COWELL
Most ousted “American Idol” contestants would be thrilled to see music mogul Simon Cowell get the royal boot from his high horse, but it doesn’t appear as though that will be happening anytime soon.
In fact, the cocky Brit is actually getting the royal treatment in his homeland. According to British newspapers, Cowell has just been awarded a privilege typically reserved for members of the royal family and eminent politicians – he can now park his car wherever he wants to.
The paper is reporting that the “Britain’s Got Talent” judge made a fuss about parking restrictions in areas where the reality TV show is holding auditions. Cowell reportedly insisted on having a reserved spot for his $400,000 Rolls Royce outside every theatre holding auditions for the popular British singing competition because he doesn’t want to be mobbed by fans.
A source told The Sun, “Simon hates walking anywhere and the idea if being mobbed fills him with fear. So his reps contacted all the relevant councils and asked them if they could make a special dispensation.”
Shockingly (at least to me), officials in Birmingham, England agreed to dig up concrete bollards to allow Cowell to park on the pavement outside one theatre, and when auditions took place in East London, the acerbic “Idol” judge was given special permission to use the mayor’s spot.
Nothing like massaging an already massive ego.
BRITNEY SPEARS
Britney Spears is used to parking wherever she wants. Heck, she’s used to doing whatever she wants whenever she wants, which is why I’m sure it came as a shock to her when a judge stripped her of custody and imposed strict rules as to when and where she could see her two young sons.
After months of being given very limited access to her children, yesterday a judge ruled that the reforming pop diva will now be allowed three days of supervised visitation per week with 2-year-old Sean Preston and 1-year-old Jayden James. According to media sources, next month Spears will also regain overnight visitation with her kids and if all goes well she could regain 50/50 custody, which is what she shared with ex-husband Kevin Federline before she experienced her series of public meltdowns.
