The other day, I blogged about three actors that were so sexy in their time – Mel Gibson, Warren Beatty, and Paul Newman. But, there are still plenty more to talk about!
I could just write 50 blogs about Elvis and why a young Elvis was so, so sexy. Yes, like many that grew up in the show biz spotlight, Elvis seemed to have had some personality flaws. But, I dare you to find one single physical fault with Elvis of the 50s or even 60s. When Elvis first hit the scene, it was he who originally drove the teenagers crazy (the Beatles just followed in his footsteps). That jet black hair, the sexy curled lip, the voice, and the eyes – just dreamy! Even after he returned from the Army stint in the 60s, Elvis returned to the top of his game in part because he was still so sexy! If you want sexiest to the billionth power, just think of young Elvis and redheaded Ann-Margaret together – what a couple that was!
Of course, we all know what happened physically to Elvis before he died, but he was so sexy in his day, that even before he died, many women could still only see the young Elvis.
Another sex symbol who blew up to mammoth proportions physically, Marlon Brando was certainly no Paul Newman in real life. He did fight for civil and American Indian rights, but he quickly ran through three wives (with his divorce from Anna Kashfi being particularly nasty). Giving the Jolie-Pitts a run for their money, he had eleven children (both natural and adopted) with four different women. However, one might say he was a less than stellar dad.
But, personal traits does not a sex symbol make. Was he good looking – oh yes. If you need confirmation of this, just check him out in A Streetcar Named Desire. His character Stanley Kowalski, was primal, rough, and a brute. But, sensual – oh yes. Built? Oh yes. Smolderingly handsome? Oh yes.
Okay, one more page of the sexy men, then it is your turn to tell me who you think I missed!
