If you took a break from reading the tabloids this weekend you might have missed the latest rumor: Justin Timberlake is prepping to pop the question to girlfriend Jessica Biel.
The 27-year-old “SexyBack” singer is rumored to be on the verge of asking his 26-year-old actress gal pal to marry him, after a yearlong courtship.
According to the British newspaper The Sun, “Justin realizes he is not getting any younger and is thinking about marriage and kids. For the first time in his life he is feeling settled and has definitely decided to pop the question to Jessica.”
We’ll just see about that.
In the meantime, the part of the rumor that stood out to me was the claim that Timberlake is considering to tie the knot on the West Indian island of Mustique. Since the island is privately owned the singer turned actor could cut down on the paparazzo’s access to his affair. According to The Sun, Timberlake doesn’t want his wedding day to be marred by overzealous paps trying to get a money shot.
But here’s the part that made me chuckle: Sources tell The Sun that the cost to fly the couple’s close friends and family to Mustique, provide accommodations for the entire wedding party, and pay for the ceremony will be well more than a $1 million.
I’m pretty sure pretty boy can afford it.
Meanwhile, movie star Will Smith is spending his hard earned dough in an entirely different way.
According to reports, the “I Am Legend” star is investing close to $1 million in a new school near his upscale California home.
Jada Pinkett Smith’s hubby recently dropped $889,000 to lease the Indian Hills High School in Calabasas in order to provide adequate space to educate his two children 9-year-old Jaden and 7-year-old Willow.
Reports claim the actor failed to find a suitable school for his kids, who up until now have been home schooled by private tutors.
According to Smith’s rep, the school has been renamed the New Village Academy of Calabasas. The actor is reportedly leasing the campus for three years and plans to cover all the costs to run it.
The academy will be run privately, and will include pre-kindergarten through grade six, according to his rep.
I wonder if Suri Cruise will be making an appearance in a couple of years?
