Singing, dancing, and starring on the big screen is simply not enough if you want to remain hot in Hollywood these days.
Apparently, when you are not hitting your mark on a movie set you need to be strutting your stuff as the new face of some hip, hot fashion brand. Just ask the following Hollywood fashionistas:
GWYNETH PALTROW
You can catch her steaming up the screen in this summer’s “Iron Man” and when she is not turning up the heat on the red carpet Gwyneth Paltrow is hard at work at her new job—acting as the face of luxury brand Tod’s. According to the Oscar winner, working with the glam company is a dream come true. Meanwhile, company bigwigs say having the “icon” represent them likewise enamors them. Paltrow’s new ads debut this fall, but a short film she shot for the company is already up on the Tod’s website.
LINDSAY LOHAN
In a previous blog I discussed Lindsay Lohan’s newest fashion venture—a line of leggings she is reportedly designing herself. Well, just in case her signature collection of tight pants doesn’t work out, the rehab queen has decided to pick up a side job as the face of Italian brand Fornarina, which will open a flagship store in New York this year. The company just announced that Lohan will serve as the spokesperson for their expanding international brand. A label spokesperson reveals that the troubled actress was chosen because she “is that very self-confident, dynamic woman, she’s got a lot of attitude and that’s what we’re hoping our customer will aspire to.” Lohan certainly has no shortage of “attitude,” it may not always be considered “positive,” but it’s definitely not in short supply.
FERGIE
She’s got a red-hot singing career, an even hotter fiancé in Josh Duhamel and now Fergie is scorching up the shoe aisle with a new line of footwear for Brown Shoes. The self-professed shoe guru says she has been obsessed with footwear since she was a young girl. The star explains, “The right pair of shoes can change the feel of an outfit — and even change how a woman feels about herself. A woman can wear confidence on her feet with a high stiletto, or slip into weekend comfort with a soft ballet flat.” Fergie’s new shoe collection launches in Spring 2009
