Indiana Jones: The Legend of the Video Games

indiana jones lego By now, we are all familiar with the movie-tie in video game. After all, movies today aren’t just movies. They are huge merchandising franchises that produce everything from tie-in toys to tie-in shampoo. In fact, I even heard a rumor of one company that wanted to license a movie tie-in for insecticide. No, I don’t want to even know what the move was that inspired that one.

Video game tie-ins are not surprising. After all, you already have a plot (or tasks to complete the story), characters and plenty of graphics that are already conceptualized before a single piece of code is written. There have been some very successful video games that are movie tie-ins, such as the Lego Starwars game and the series of Harry Potter games. There is also those tie-in that live only in obscurity, such as E.T. for the Atari 2600, the first ever movie tie in video game, and Krull, a video game that was actually better than the movie in its own way.

Also not surprising is the thought that there might be a video game tie-in to the latest Indiana Jones movie. After all, this long-awaited movie has gotten so much promotion that the related products have been out long before the movie. What is interesting is that there are actually several Indiana Jones related video games. In fact, there are more Indiana Jones video games than there are Indian Jones movies. Over the years, I have counted a total of eleven. Here are two of the latest. Don’t forget your hat!
