Celebrity Moms Speak Out

“No Nanny!” That’s the word from doubly blessed mom Jennifer Lopez.

According to Us Weekly, mommy to 3-month-old twins Max and Emme refuses to get a nanny because she says she wants to be a hands-on parent.

The magazine reports that Lopez and her husband Marc Anthony hired help to look after the newborns shortly after they came home from the hospital, but for some unknown reason the babies’ female nanny left her job last month and instead of replacing her Lopez has decided to go at it alone.

GASP!

Us reports that the singer is caring for her children all by herself (save for the times when Anthony is around to lend a hand) and is loving every minute of it. Granted, she’s only been at it for about three weeks but friends of the entertainer say, “Jennifer is beyond hands-on.”

No word on whether the couple will hire help when they head off on tour next month. Lopez says she plans to take the twins on the road to Spain next month to join Anthony as he tours the region performing concerts to promote his current album.

Now that should be interesting.

Meanwhile, singer Christina Aguilera is said to be “desperate” for a second child – but has decided to wait to add to her family until after her career slows down.

Hmmm… I don’t recall hearing that it was in high gear…

The singer’s comment comes just 4 months after giving birth to her son Max (whose father is music executive Jordan Bratman) and a year after she abruptly cancelled the last few stops on her 2007 Back to Basics tour.

Aguilera says while she really would like to be pregnant right now she is putting plans for another baby on hold, so she can focus on her career.

I wonder if she has a nanny?
