David Cook Dines with Kimberly Caldwell
David Cook not only won this season’s “American Idol,” he may have just won over the heart of a certain Idol alum. David revealed today on “Live with Regis and Kelly” that he had dinner former Idol contestant Kimberly Caldwell. The 25-year-old Cook met the 26-year-old Caldwell (who finished in seventh place on season 2 of “American Idol”) through the show. When asked how the date went, Cook replied that he had a good time and said, “we’ll probably hang out again. So we’ll see.”
Since her stint on Idol, Caldwell has started acting (she appeared in the Fox sitcom “Life on a Stick” and in the horror film Wrong Turn 2). She is also a music industry panelist for American Idol Underground, an online community and internet radio station. She and John Rich, of the country group Big and Rich, are currently working on her debut album.
Yale Honors Paul McCartney
He was THE teen idol, has written numerous number one hits, his nasty divorce seems to be over, and he has been knighted by the Queen of England, but now Paul McCartney can add another accolade to his repertoire – Doctor!
That’s right, Yale University gave Sir Paul an honorary Doctor of Music degree on Monday. Yale President Richard Levin said that the 65-year-old cutest Beatle was responsible for awakening a generation by giving a fresh sound to rock-n-roll. Actually, rock-n-roll wasn’t that old when McCartney started, but there is no doubt that he is a legendary performer and songwriter. Levin also said that the university admired McCartney’s “musical genius” and his “generous support of worthy causes.”
Paul McCartney was not the only British VIP at the Yale graduation – former Prime Minister Tony Blair was also in town for the 307th commencement as his older son Euan was completing a two-year Master’s degree in international relations.
