She’s already a Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter with legions of devoted fans, but now Shawn Colvin is adding another line to her resume—author.
The “Sunny Came Home” singer recently revealed that she is working on a memoir titled, “A Few Small Repairs,” named for her best-known album.
According Colvin’s publisher, the book is tentatively scheduled to come out in the fall 2009 and will reportedly allow fans that have followed her career over the past 19 years to further connect with her on a personal level that only a book could allow.
“In concert Shawn is known for engaging the audience and interweaving dialogue ranging from the very personal to the truly hilarious, so the book will be a natural extension for her,” the publisher said in a statement last week.
The 53-year-old singer is known for such records as “Steady On,””Fat City” and “A Few Small Repairs,” which featured the hit single “Sunny Came Home” and won Grammys for song and album of the year.
KID ROCK’S SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Brace yourself… it’s a doozie.
Kid Rock wants you to know it’s fine with him if you want to illegally download his music.
Oh and while you’re at it go ahead and take computers, iPods and cars that don’t belong to you too.
The 37-year-old rocker from Detroit posted a “special announcement” on YouTube last week urging fans to “steal everything.”
In the video Kid Rock says he’s rich enough that he is not going to complain if fans steal a song or two off the Internet without paying him.
The singer goes on to say that people should “level the playing field” by stealing anything they need from wealthy corporations.
In his YouTube post Kid Rock mentions laptops, iPods, Toyota vehicles (“It’s a foreign car company, so who cares?”), gasoline and Tommy Hilfiger clothing as potential targets for “a five-finger discount.”
Though when pressed by media outlets about his “special announcement” Kid Rock quickly revealed the video was made as a joke.
“I was just trying to have some fun with it,” the rap-rocker told reporters.
Yeah, well, try explaining that to the 200,000 fans who already viewed the clip.
