After a long wait (especially for some fans), the fall television season is finally upon us. Starting next week, the networks are going to be rolling out some fan favorites and some new, exciting shows.
Last night, we saw a commercial for “Heroes” and it mentioned it was returning after a nine month wait. My husband commented how that was like waiting on a baby to get here. Monday night, there will be a two hour “Heroes” season premiere. One of my personal favorites, CBS’ “Two and a Half Men,” also starts its new season on Monday, September 22. Reality fans will have a field day Monday night as the newest season of “Dancing with the Stars” kicks off on ABC. Monday night will also see a new season premiere for “Boston Legal” on ABC.

Tuesday night, you can catch the premiere of “The Mentalist” on CBS. This show stars Simon Baker as an independent consultant for the California Bureau of Investigation. Oh yeah, and he has psychic abilities. Or, at least he used to pretend like he did, but now he is trying to solve crimes the normal way. Tuesday night is also the season premieres for “Law & Order: SVU” and “NCIS.”
Wednesday night will signal the official return of the new “Knight Rider,” the David Hasselhoff show from the ‘80s, on NBC. There will also be a new episode of “The New Adventures of the Old Christine” at the same time on CBS. CBS is also serving up the new comedy “Gary Unmarried,” which will premiere Wednesday. Gary Barnes, played by Jay Mahr, is a father of two struggling to make it after a divorce.
“Survivor: Gabon” will premiere Thursday (September 25). There will be a special two hour season premiere of “Grey’s Anatomy” Thursday night on ABC, right after the season premiere of “Ugly Betty.” Thursday night on NBC will be a big one as “My Name is Earl,” “The Office,” and “ER” all return.
More reality starts a week from Sunday with the return of “The Amazing Race” and “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.” It’s a great night for animation fans as “The Simpsons,” “King of the Hill,” and “The Family Guy” all make their season debuts that night as well.
Have fun watching!
