Finding Peace

Today I was able to go to the temple with my husband. It was just what I needed. Lately I have been wondering just what is going to happen to us. My husband graduates in two weeks from graduate school. This is a great accomplishment and I am so proud of him. But we do not know what is going to happen next. He needs to find a good job, and I have been worrying about it. It seems to be hovering on the edge of my unconscious, popping up anytime I have a quiet moment.

Well back to the temple. I have been praying about the job and everything else, and I know that I just need to trust Heavenly Father. I know that everything will work out in the end, but doubts and worry just keep popping up. As soon as we got to the temple I felt the peace there. It just envelops you as you walk in the door. I just knew that everything is going to be okay. I needed to know that. I do not need to let that little problem nag me anymore.

One of the blessings of temple attendance is peace. In “The Holy Temple,” Elder Boyd K. Packer says,
“Our labors in the temple cover us with a shield and a protection, both individually and as a people.
So come to the temple—come and claim your blessings. It is a sacred work.”

If you have not been to the temple in awhile, make plans to go again. I will encourage my sisters and my mother to attend the temple when they are struggling with a decision or feeling down on themselves. It is one place that you can always feel at peace. Regular temple attendance blesses you with an added measure of peace and added strength to bear the burdens that are placed upon you.
