Nancy Grace vs. William Balfour’s Mother

CNN’s Nancy Grace contained herself for about six minutes before she lit into a hot-tempered, defensive, and at times, incomprehensible Michele Davis-Balfour.

Balfour is the mother of William Balfour—-the “person of interest” in the murders of Jennifer Hudson’s mother, brother and 7-year-old nephew.

Did you see the interview last night?

What an absolute train wreck!

Balfour was invited on Grace’s TV show to explain the events leading up to her son’s arrest as she understood them. Believe me; she didn’t do her son any favors.

Balfour started out fine, but it didn’t take long before she lapsed into a barrage of accusations. First, she blamed the police for falsely imprisoning her son. Next, she accused the media of portraying her “baby boy” as “Attila the Hun.” Then, she had the audacity to call Jennifer Hudson’s dead brother Jason a “drug dealer” on national television. All that took place before Balfour got into a shouting match with Grace, who continually tried to get the irate woman to cut the diatribe, and answer her original question regarding her William’s alibi.

Balfour danced around Grace’s questions to the point where you wondered whether the two women were speaking the same language. Towards the end of the interview they were definitely speaking at the same volume, especially when Balfour accused Grace of not getting her facts straight about her son’s arrest.

Oh no she didn’t!

She did. And Grace was ticked.

The only thought provoking information Balfour shared (in between her constant insisting that her son is “innocent”) was that William could have never committed the murders because he “respects women.” Interestingly, this statement came immediately after she revealed to Grace that despite the fact that her son is still legally married to Julia Hudson he is also romantically involved with two other women.

“My son’s alibi was [he was] with one of his girlfriends, OK?” Davis-Balfour said. When Grace asked which girlfriend he was with on the day of the murders, Balfour said her son was with a woman named Diana on Friday night, and with a woman named Kate on Saturday morning.

Hmm.. way to respect women.
