There were some disturbing new revelations in the Paula Abdul suicide case today. PEOPLE magazine is reporting that Paula Goodspeed sent Paula Abdul flowers last week. But, rather than sending them from herself, she signed the card “Hope you’re doing great. Here’s my new cell number, Love, J.T.” It seems as if it was a desperate attempt by Goodspeed to get Abdul to call her. By signing “J.T.” to the card, Abdul thought the flowers were from J.T. Torregiani.

But, I guess celebs have experience with this sort of thing. Abdul simply called J.T. and asked him why he had changed his cell number. When he told her he hadn’t, a source told PEOPLE that Abdul knew immediately that the flowers were from Goodspeed.
It is estimated that in the past three years since Goodspeed’s disastrous “American Idol” audition, she has sent more than 100 letters to Abdul, called her several times, and showed up uninvited where Abdul was.
Goodspeed’s niece, Sonja McIntyre said that her aunt was a good person that would do anything for anyone. She did admit that Goodspeed had changed her first name from Sandra to Paula. But, she said it was changed about sixteen years ago and had nothing to do with Abdul, just that Goodspeed liked the name Paula. However, that’s pretty close to the time when Abdul was at the top of her game as a singer. McIntyre went on to say Goodspeed wasn’t suicidal and had planned on going back to her home state of Maine soon. She mentioned that when she visited Goodspeed in California, Goodspeed showed her Abdul’s house a couple of times. She also said Goodspeed told her she had met Abdul outside a “Starbucks or something” and that she was excited to have met such a big star.
You can view Goodspeed’s audition at YouTube. I don’t remember her, although I watched that season of “American Idol.” I just feel a bit sad now. I must admit that I’ve always loved the auditions, especially the bad ones. I mean, come on – everyone loves them, that’s why “American Idol” lets these people make it on the show. But, I guess I always thought of these people as delusional to think they could sing, but in a normal way. It never crossed my mind that any of these people could be stalkers or mentally unstable.
