Fans of Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” will soon get the chance to see their favorite princess (and various pieces of dancing silverware) in 3-D.
Disney execs just announced that the mega-popular 1991 animated movie is getting a major makeover. Come 2010 fans will be able to view a 3-D version of the flick starring a beautiful maiden and her monstrous muse.
Filmmakers are reportedly planning to use the movie’s original computer files to create a new Disney digital 3-D “Beauty and the Beast,” which will be released in about two years. Re-rendering the film is expected to take 10 months. Disney execs say they will then spend another year or so marketing the new flick.
Animators say they plan to use different backgrounds, effects and character animation elements to bring new life to the 17-year-old movie. They’re also hoping that the new technology will win over a few new fans in the process.
“Beauty and the Beast” will be the 11th 3-D feature that Disney is scheduled to release in 2009-10. Disney’s digital 3-D lineup for 2009 includes: “Jonas Brothers 3-D Concert Movie,” to be released on Febreuary 27th; Disney/Pixar’s “Up” (May 29th); “G-Force,” from Disney and Jerry Bruckheimer Films (July 24th); the newly re-rendered Disney digital 3-D debut of Disney/Pixar’s “Toy Story” (October 2nd); and “A Christmas Carol,” from Robert Zemeckis (November 6th), starring Jim Carrey in multiple roles.
In 2010, the studio will unveil a 3-D version of “Toy Story 2”; Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland,” starring Johnny Depp; “Toy Story 3,” from Disney/Pixar; “Rapunzel”; and, from Touchstone Pictures, “Step Up 3.”
Call it an anti-Disney show…
In a move that defies imagination (in the worst way possible) former “Dancing with the Stars” alumni Melanie Brown and Kelly Monaco are reportedly trading in their glittery ballroom gowns for skin, skin and more skin.
According to reports, Monaco and Brown are set to star in PEEPSHOW, a topless, burlesque-style performance that is expected to open in March at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino.
Before you lose your lunch (dinner and breakfast), show producers say neither Brown nor Monaco will be topless, but the showgirls surrounding them will be.
Brown revealed that she will be “scantily clad, but in a classy way.”
Is that possible?
As for Monaco, she will reportedly play “Little Bo Peep,” a shy and lonely girl who is guided by Brown’s character, “Peep Diva.”
Once again Brown lives up to her scary name.
