The Abs Diet – Eating Right the First Time

So what makes a power food in the Abs Diet? I want to explore that a little here, as we get ready to tackle our Sizzling Summer Slim Down. I also wanted to share a little gem – since adjusting my diet to follow the Abs Diet recommended power foods – my mocha cravings are evaporating.

As some of you who read the Fitness blog may know. I am extremely addicted to Starbuck’s mochas. The expense alone should be enough to turn me off, but even the expense can’t make my cravings go away. Daily, I find myself in the drive through ordering my vente, non-fat, half-café, and peppermint mocha.

I’ve been drinking Starbuck’s mochas for almost ten years. Even when I’ve forcibly given them up to follow one diet plan or another; I’m always longing for one. I started eating the recommended power foods in the Abs Diet as written by David ZincZenko a little over 8 days ago. One of the recommendations he made was to consume low-fat milk or non-fat.

Well, my mochas are low-fat milk, but he also suggests soy products. I’ve switched to drinking soy mochas. The fact that the soy mocha doesn’t taste much different to me really helped – however – by making sure that all of my meals contain two or more of his power foods has definitely made a difference.

I’m already limiting how many mochas I’m drinking, not because I am forcing myself to – but because I don’t want them. In the last seven days, I’ve already skipped my mochas two to three days. I’m not missing them. That’s a HUGE improvement over my past dietary selections.

I have also noticed a distinct lack of gratuitous hunger. In other words, I’m eating my six small meals a day and it is really not hard. I have lost only 2 pounds so far following the regimen – but that’s not bad and I’m eliminating unnecessary crutches. I have a feeling that by eliminating mochas, I may have made a huge stride in lowering my caloric intake (especially when you consider that just one has over 300 calories in it and I drank as many as 2 or 3 in a day).

So here’s my private woo hoo for the day as I head into the Sizzling Summer Slim Down. How are you getting ready for summer?
