Do You Think Jessica Simpson is Fat?

A slew of tabloids do and they are milking photos of the bigger blonde songstress for all they’re worth.

And so it begins… another round of who’s fat in
Hollywood.

Jessica Simpson has been the talk of the World Wide Web since showing up to a concert gig wearing high-waisted jeans, a tank top, and the most hideous looking double-decker leopard print belt I’ve ever seen in my life.

Forget about Simpson’s weight gain people… let’s talk about her choice in clothing!

All week long the tabloids have been poking fun at the “porkier” version of the once rail-thin singer turned actress. According to reports, Simpson, who was once a size 2 and flaunted her fab abs and slim thighs in her revealing Daisy Dukes, has now ballooned to a size 8.

For non-Hollywood types being a size 8 would be cause to celebrate. But, in the ultra-skinny world of Tinseltown packing on the pounds ala Simpson, is akin to career suicide.

Fortunately, for Tony Romo’s gal pal, support has been flooding in from around the globe. Celebrities from Heidi Klum to Carmen Electra and Kim Kardashian have rushed to Simpson’s defense.

Last night Electra told news reporters: “A lot of women would die to look as good as Jessica looks.”

Even Simpson’s ex-husband is defending her new curvier figure. Earlier this week Nick Lachey told TV reporters he was shocked by how much press Simpson’s weight has generated.

“I can’t believe it’s this big of a story and people are making such a huge deal about it,” Lachey said. “I’m never ceased to be amazed by people’s reaction to things. I hope she’s happy, whatever size she comes in. I wish her nothing but the best.”

Ditto for Simpson’s younger sister Ashlee, who went straight to the blogosphere demanding that people leave her sibling alone.

“I am completely disgusted by the headlines concerning my sister’s weight,” the 24-year-old new mom wrote on her blog.

Under the headline: “Since when did a woman’s weight become newsworthy,” Ashlee wrote: “A week after the inauguration and with such a feeling of hope in the air for our country, I find it completely embarrassing and belittling to all women to read about a woman’s weight or figure.”

She added: “All women come in different shapes, sizes, and forms and just because you’re a celebrity, there shouldn’t be a different standard.”

For her part, the voluptuous singer told fans that she is unfazed by the media hype and is happy with the size of her body.

So what do you think? Is it fair that the media is making such a big deal about Jessica’s weight gain?
