DWTS’ First Victim and Paula Abdul’s 1000th Complaint

Dancing with the Stars’ new season hasn’t officially started yet, but the show is already losing celeb hoofers.

Sort of.

Yesterday Jewel announced that she might be forced to pull out of the TV dance competition due to a knee injury. The show’s eighth season premiere airs in less than two weeks and the singer says she is unsure she will be able to recover in time.

Jewel made the announcement on her blog Wednesday saying that doctors diagnosed her with tendonitis in her knees and that she has started a course of medicine to help with the swelling.

“I’m just worried I won’t even be able to dance!” the singer writes. “Hopefully these steroids will really do the trick and I can keep bad flare ups at bay in the future.”

Even more disturbing to the blonde songstress is the fact that doctors have ordered her to stay off the dance floor for a few days. Jewel says that not being able to hit the rehearsal studio with her pro partner, Dmitry Chaplin, could seriously compromise her first dance, the cha cha.

As of today Jewel is still scheduled to make her debut on DWTS when the show returns to the air on March 9th.

PAULA ABDUL’S 1000TH COMPLAINT

Hasn’t American Idol judge Paula Abdul figured out by now that no one really cares what she thinks?

In what has become a weekly gripe session about American Idol’s new format, Abdul is once again complaining about her on-air gig. She reportedly just wrapped up an interview with OK! magazine saying that she would like things to go back to the way they were.

In the March 9th issue of OK! magazine, Abdul expresses her displeasure with the addition of new judge Kara DioGuardi. According to the Straight Up singer, while she loves DioGuardi and they “get along great,” Abdul claims having a fourth judge hurts the show. The singer says having an extra judge slows the pace of the hit show. She also noted that trying to squeeze in the comments from herself, DioGuardi, Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell “doesn’t work.”

Abdul also cited the failed attempt to add New York radio DJ Angie Martinez to the panel during season two.

What do you make of Abdul’s constant complaining?
