Weight Loss: Cheerios or Lucky Charms?

Does anyone else share my passion for dry cereal? I have found a great snack with only 100 calories in a box. It requires no cooking or preparation either. Just one cup of it and only 100 calories. I have found that it fills up the empty spot that lies in your belly.

I discovered cereal one day as I headed out the door to go to work. I was pressed for time and saw the box of cereal sitting there. My stomach ached a little bit out of hunger, but there was no time to make anything. I reached in to get a handful of cereal on my way out the door. To my surprise it kept my hunger at bay for a few hours. No more hunger pains. I decided that it would be my new snacking food. Quick, easy, a minimal amount of calories, and with some nutritional value, it could even be eaten on the run.

My only dilemma is to choose between the two, Cheerios or Lucky Charms. When I want something unsweetened and bland I reach for the Cheerios. It is still good, serves the purpose, but not sweet at all. When I want something sweet, I reach for the Lucky Charms. I love the little chalky marshmallows. Surprisingly, I thought I had sabotaged my diet the first day that I discovered it. I did not, but in fact, dry cereal has helped me to lose weight. I think the reason why is that if I did not eat that I would be reaching for a much higher calorie snack instead.

Do not knock this idea until you have tried it. I know that I could be having a snack that is much more in terms of nutrition, but for a quick and easy snack, have a cup of cereal. You might just find that you like it.
