My life has been a whirlwind for the past month. Although I have not experienced any additional weight loss, I have managed to maintain, which makes me very happy. I have also been more faithful about exercising routinely. I visited my doctor a couple of weeks ago. I asked her what is the best way to lose weight at this stage of my life (40+). She said that if she knew she would be skinny. I told her that I have been dieting and exercising and that my weight is still not budging. I do, however, feel stronger, more muscular, especially in my calves. She suggested weight training, in addition to the aerobics that I have been doing. I had started weight training some time ago, but it was just too difficult and I felt like I was not accomplishing much of anything. She said that it takes time, which I somewhat already knew. Me, being the impatient person that I am when it comes to weight loss, ditched it after not giving it a fair chance.
So here I am, again, lifting my little weights. They are five-pound weights, but that is about all that I can manage for now. My doctor stated that it was a good start. I am back on the road to new adventures in weight loss once again. I have even started back on my treadmill. I am also still doing the aerobics. I am trying to eat more fruits and vegetables, which are not my favorite food items. I am also trying to stay away from bread per my doctor’s suggestion. That is a tough one, but trying to get with this fitness and healthy eating regimen in a more stringent manner. You just cannot give up. I refuse to and you should too. Hang tough!
