Thanks to the reality TV show craze anyone can be a star… even primetime has-beens.
Just ask the cute kid who used to play Rudy Huxtable on “The Cosby Show.”
Actress Keshia Knight Pulliam is all grown up, and hasn’t been on the small screen since her hit NBC sitcom wrapped nearly 15 years ago.
But the actress wants to change that, and is looking to the Oxygen network for help.
According to reports, Pulliam wants to show off her life on cable TV via a reality show that will profile her and her live-in boyfriend, Atlanta area entrepreneur Kaseem Penn.
Network reps say the new show will explore what it’s like being young, rich, and single… while living in sin. I mean co-habitating.
What would Cliff Huxtable think?
No airdate is set for the show, but Oxygen execs say the series will be titled “Keshia and Kaseem.”
Another D-list star looking to pad her pocketbook in these tough economic times is Marissa Jaret Winokur.
The former “Dancing with the Stars” contestant, who won a Tony for her performance in “Hairspray,” has been booked by Oxygen to host a new reality series called “Dance Your Ass Off.”
According to network execs, the new show will feature competitors trying to show off their dancing skills while losing weight. Sort of like “The Biggest Loser” meets “Dancing with the Stars.”
Finally, if he can star in a reality TV show ANYONE can.
Impeached Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich has sealed a deal to star in NBC’s reality show “I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here.”
The Hollywood Reporter claims that Blagojevich, who was removed from office amid charges he tried to sell Barack Obama’s vacated senate seat, among other infractions to which he’s pleaded not guilty, will be headed to Costa Rica to film the summer reality TV series “pending the court’s approval.”
The show pits various celebrities against one another in challenges to raise money for their favorite charities. The series debuts on June 1st.
I’m sure Blagojevich, who has been called everything from a snake to a beast, will feel right at home in the jungle.
