LDS Mother’s Day Gift Suggestions

Mother’s Day is just around the corner, and you may be wondering what you can get your mom, wife or other loved one for Mother’s Day. I think it is important to remember all of the women in your life on this special day, even if they are not mothers. Any woman who reaches out to bless the lives of those around them deserves to be remembered. Here are five Mother’s day gifts for LDS women.

First the Worldwide Ward Cookbook would make a great gift. This is a compilation of recipes from members all over the world. There are recipes from people in South America, Africa, Europe, and just all over. Ward cookbooks are great because they are the best of the best recipes, and all of these recipes look very promising.

The Confessions of a Completely Insane Mother is a fun relaxing book to read. It is a great Mother’s Day gift for any mom. This book is a relaxing and fun read that will have you laughing out loud. It focuses on looking at the funny side of being a mother, and those awful situations moms find themselves in.

Contentment: Inspiring Thoughts for LDS Mothers is another great book to give a mom on Mother’s day. This book focuses on finding peace and contentment as a mother. This book talks about building a solid relationship with Savior and on realizing the importance of motherhood. It is a great read and has great advice on how to manage the ups and downs of being a mom.

Another great gift is one of time for mothers. This may be different for each mother. Those with young children may value the gift of a few hours absolutely alone, whereas the mother of teenagers or grown children may value the gift of time together as a family. You should know your mother or your wife well enough to know which gift would mean the most to her right now.

Finally a great gift for moms is coupon book that she can cash in to get things done around the house. This could be compiled by one child or by the whole family. This is an inexpensive gift that will mean a lot to any mom. Just be sure to include a homemade card without it telling your mom how much you love her.

And a little hint for those planning the Mother’s gift on Sunday. I’ve had a wide variety of Sunday gifts. They’ve ranged from candles to flowers, from photos to candy. Truthfully my favorite is chocolate. Most women I know agree with me. Flowers are dead by the time you get home, especially if they’ve been cut. If they are in planters, then it means more work, and some people aren’t candle or photo people. Almost everyone loves chocolate. If you didn’t like these suggestions, here are some others.
