Sean Penn and Robin Wright Back Together Again… and Again

Here they go again.

Forget about “Milk,” Sean Penn would have been a huge hit in “Groundhog Day.” Judging by his recent behavior, the leading role wouldn’t have been a stretch (by any means) for the character actor.

Just ask his wife Robin Wright Penn, who must be suffering from major whiplash at this point.

According to reports, last week Penn pulled a Penn and filed a request to dismiss his legal separation case-—again.

This is the second time in less than two years that the actor has rescinded divorce papers.

The 48-year-old actor served his 43-year-old wife with walking papers in December 2007, and then again a few weeks ago. In the former case, the two reconciled within a couple of months, and it appears the same is happening this time around.

Amazingly, the pair has been married for 13 years, which leads one to assume that Robin is used to her hubby’s erratic behavior.

Penn’s rep has confirmed that Madonna’s ex put the brakes on his divorce to Robin, and said that according to the double Oscar winner, “It was an arrogant mistake.”

An arrogant mistake? Seriously?

Can you imagine being married to a guy who is constantly threatening divorce every time things don’t go his way?

Dinner not on the table when he wants it. Divorce. Kids making too much noise. Divorce. Not getting permission to canoodle with hot co-stars. Divorce.

Wasn’t it Albert Einstein, who once said that the definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over again and expecting a different result?

The couple has two children Dylan, 18, and Hopper Jack, 15, so it’s possible that Penn was taking their best interest to heart when he put the brakes on the divorce proceedings.

Then, again, the reason Penn slams down the divorce card as frequently as he does could simply be because he is as arrogant as he admits to being.

In which case all I have to say is:

Run. Robin. RUN!!!
