The home office is usually one of the places in your home that can get neglected when it comes to cleaning. Here are some tips on how to get it clean without too much effort.
In your home it can get pretty obvious to everyone when the bathroom isn’t clean or when there are dishes piled up in the kitchen sink, but the home office is another story. Usually tucked away, we tend not to notice the dust piling up, or we don’t want to disturb the mountain of papers that are piled up. But we don’t have to live with a dirty home office, not when cleaning it is easier than we might think.
The amount of dust, debris ad grime that can embed itself on a computer keyboard is pretty horrendous. Go take a good look at your keyboard right now and see if it needs some attention.
To clean your keyboard, first unplug it from the computer. Next, shake it upside down to get rid of any crumbs that might be hiding under the keys. You might want to do this over a trash can. You can used some canned air to blow any stubborn dust away, but be careful to blow it across and out of the keyboard instead of down and into the keyboard. If you are nervous about damaging your keyboard, then you might want to skip this step. A little keyboard vacuum is a safer bet.
After getting rid of the dust, wipe down the keys with a good cleaner. You’ll want to use a soft cloth and add the cleaner to the cloth until it is just damp. Don’t spray any cleaning products directly on to the keyboard. I usually use either windex sprayed on to a cloth or a tiny drop of dishwashing liquid with some water to dampen it. Wipe down the keys and the rest of the keyboard, and you are done!
