I woke up this morning and felt the rumble in my stomach. I got out of bed and stumbled to the shower. I was hoping that the awful feeling would go away. As I got washed and dressed the emptiness in the pit of my stomach grew more fierce. I counted out five crackers. Having been a dieter for several years I did not have to look at the package to see how many calories there were or even the portion size that they recommended. I have experience.
The crackers took my emptiness away and I am now good to go. I have to have coffee so that was next. Sipping on my coffee, I am nervous about my self-control. I have been thinking that I hope I can make it through the day without messing up.
Listed below are, I hope, some helpful suggestions to help you get through your day. They seem to help me on most days so I try to keep them at the top of my brain.
Always take one day at a time. Focus on getting through today and do not think too long or hard about tomorrow regarding what you will eat.
Set goals for 10-pound weight loss increments only. To have a further vision than that might make it seem impossible to strive for. Once you get to your 10-pound weight loss goal you can move it on down to another 10-pound weight loss goal.
Only eat enough food to quell the hunger. Try to make sure that this is healthy food. This is hard because we like food so much. It tastes good and sometimes we use it as a form of comfort.
Allow yourself one treat or forbidden food once a week. Only eat a small portion of it.
Weigh yourself a couple of times a week to keep yourself in check. The experts say to do this once a week, but I find that a mid week weigh in works better to keep on top of things.
