As part of our Going to the Chapel month, I want to introduce a new series that I’ll be updating regularly here at our Marriage blog. The Destination Wedding series is designed to feature different destinations where you can host the wedding of your dreams, the wedding of a lifetime or just a different wedding altogether.
Remember, you can always check out the Travel blog where there is plenty of great travel ideas, tips and information. But without further ado, today we’re focusing on the Destination Wedding that takes us to Las Vegas in the beautiful state of Nevada. You’ve likely heard the phrase of what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, well in this case – what happens in Vegas could be your wedding.
Now, before you start imagining Elvis impersonators and drive through wedding windows (although those are definitely available) your options for a destination wedding in Las Vegas are tremendous! Whether you are looking for an indoor wedding or an outdoor experience, you can find it all in the Las Vegas area.
Catholic weddings can be hosted at St. Jude’s Chapel of the Holy Family and at other chapels located in some of the casino resorts including the Venetian and the Bellagio. No matter whether you are looking for a ministry wedding or not, imagine getting married in the Grand Canyon, either in the air floating high above in a balloon, aboard an airplane or standing at the Hoover Dam. What about a journey that takes you down to the floor of the Grand Canyon?
Another beautiful location for your outdoor wedding could be the timeless Valley of Fire. It’s located north of Lake Mead and east of Las Vegas. The sandstone formations in this area are over a 150 millions years old. Imagine pledging your vows in such a timeless location, making firm your commitments against a backdrop that has withstood the test of time.
Las Vegas is about more than Elvis, casinos and gambling. It is ripe with history, environment and much more. Another popular reason for choosing Las Vegas is that it is a cost effective destination from most major airports throughout the continental U.S. and even from overseas.
So if you’re looking for a location that has a little bit of everything, check out Las Vegas for your wedding.
